Visa is leveraging its decades of experience in global payments to bridge the gap between traditional finance and digital assets. At the Singapore FinTech Festival, Cuy Sheffield, Head of crypto at Visa, highlighted the company's strategic focus on stablecoin payments and blockchain-based settlement. The conversation underscored a pivotal shift from proof-of-concepts to production, driven by regulatory clarity such as the GENIUS Act in the U.S.

Stablecoins are no longer experimental; they are becoming integral to fintech and payment platforms. Visa views digital currencies as an expansion of the addressable market rather than competition. The company is already rolling out stablecoin-linked cards and infrastructure to help banks navigate on-chain transactions.
